2003-04: Participated at the 2004 US Olympic Trials in the 1,500-
meter freestyle, taking 15th place with a time of 15:42.48...Had a
breakout season as a freshman leading the Seminoles' distance
program...Made his mark on the FSU record books by breaking a
ten-year-old record in the 1,000 free. Broke Chip Haberstroh's
record with a time of 9:13.97, the league's sixth-best time, against
Florida (Nov. 11)...Nearly reset the school record in the 1,650 free
at the ACC Championships (Feb. 25-25) as his seventh-place mark
of 15:24.79--the 34th-best time in the country last year--is just
0.17 off the mark and an NCAA "B" cut. Time ranked seventh in
the ACC last year...Also scored points with a 12th-place time of
4:29.30 during the 500 freestyle...Took 17th in the 400 individual
medley at 4:03.96...Scored a trio of top-six finishes at the Texas
A&M Fall Invitational (Nov. 21-23)...Took third in the 500 free with
a career-best time of 4:28.10 that is tied for fourth on the FSU top
ten list...Aggie meet also saw him post a third-place time of
3:54.76 that ranks fourth in school history...Scored the first NCAA
"B" cut of his career with a 15:26.66 in the 1,650 free...Started his
collegiate career off with a bang, winning six of his first eight
races...Only finished lower than third once--a fourth place mark
in the 400 IM--in 22 dual meet races with 13 victories.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned All-America honors his senior
season...Placed fourth in the 1,500-meter free at the US
Nationals...Member of the US National Distance Team.
